MINISTRIES

Here at Macedonia, we are eager and take much pleasure in serving in the church. We believe that serving is not only our way of giving thanks to God, but also a way to take care of each other, as well as our community. Feel free to take a look at some of our ministries below. We look forward to serving with you!

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry is a top priority here at MBC because we realize our youth need guidance and support as they navigate through the most challenging part of their development and seek to grow in their walk with Christ. It’s important for the truth of the gospel to be passed down from generation to generation in order to grow the body of Christ. Teaching our young people at Macedonia to grow in their relationship with the Lord prepares them to serve Christ in all they do. As a result, this nurtures the congregation and allows the church to flourish. This not only prepares them to become future leaders, but it also allows them to contribute to the church. In the Bible, God often used young people to do great things. For example, God used Timothy to pastor and lead the Ephesian church when he was a teenager. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” Additionally, we can learn a lot from the faith of a child. Matthew 18:2-4 says, “He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Because of God’s heart for young people, it is important for us to recognize their value to Macedonia today.

Education Ministry

Our Education Ministry is responsible for: planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive program of Christian education. They provide educational resources to leaders of the following: Sunday School, Discipleship training, Women’s Ministries, Men’s Ministries, and the church media/Library. They work with the appropriate staff in recruiting workers for all educational ministry programs, develop special educational training projects and study programs for all age groups and leadership groups within the congregation. They work with the Church Security team to ensure that background checks are completed and on file for all who work with children and youth. The character and expectations for our teachers are high; they must be born again, have a good attitude, and a heart that deeply desires to serve Christ. Their motivation for serving is to glorify God. All our teachers at Macedonia are made aware of James 3:1. “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.” Our teachers must have a daily discipline to spend time alone with God in Bible study and in prayer, must have a high standard of personal holiness and a life that is above reproach, should be approachable and teachable, one who listens well before speaking.

Mission, Outreach, & Evangelism Ministry

This ministry is a must at Macedonia Baptist Church. This is how we give back to the community locally and abroad in the following ways: The Craig Phillips Clothing Closet – collects clothing of all types for all ages ranging from infant to XXX adult sizes. It also collects blankets and coats during the Fall and Winter months. The hours of operation are Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Every second Saturday our Outreach Ministry connects with Grace Community Church of Atlanta where we work with them to distribute food, shoes, clothing and blankets to needy families in the west Atlanta area. Our evangelism efforts are spearheaded by our very experienced and exciting Evangelist Evelyn Espinoza. She travels across the United States and abroad to bring the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will listen. This consists of preaching in the streets, handing out Christian tracts, and carrying signs with messages about the coming savior.
